Chevron - Condemn Police Brutality in the Kimberley

Last week, approximately 250 police converged on Broome, Western Australia, in a desperate attempt to crush peaceful community opposition to a proposed industrial complex at James Price Point on the pristine Kimberley coast.

Act in solildarity with Australian activists this Wednesday 16 May with international support for their national day of action. Demand that Chevron, Shell, BP, Woodside Petroleum and BHP-Billiton condemn police actions ordered by West Australian Premier, Colin Barnett.

Corporate interests cannot be allowed to trump community participation. It's time to hold the big corporations accountable for the bullying and intimidation being carried out in their name.

Join us as we demand that the fossil fuel giants speak out and condemn the police actions in the Kimberley. Sign this petition. We'll fax your signatures and messages to California-based Chevron and the other oil companies.

Condemn Police Actions in the Kimberley

State police are using excessive force against peaceful community protesters who are opposing the proposed natural gas plant at James Price Point near Broome, Western Australia. The companies backing this unpopular project include California-based Chevron, Shell, BP, Woodside Petroleum and BHP-Billition. We stand in solidarity with the people of the Kimberley on a national day of action on Wednesday, May 16, in calling for an immediate condemnation of police actions by the state from all joint venture partners.
